# on my shelf - Cherry Blossom blog -

One of my favourite hashtags on instagram is the #onmyshelf one
just love to admire all these beautiful styled shelves
(or whatever used... tables, cabinets, cupboard)
but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...
and that is what attracts me most!

because it thought it would be fun to share and to be inspired
by each other's creative ideas
I have asked some bloggers/IGers to share their "shelfies"
accompanied by some words or a short story...

one of the first foreign blogs I ever followed was the "Cherry Blossom blog"
A Norwegian blog filled with beautiful interior design (her bubble of inspiration),
soft tones, art,  fashion, creative diy ideas, styling, music and photography
(I admit... I was very disappointed when she didn't post for a day)

this week sweet Veronika - founder of the Cherry Blossem blog
shares hers...

My favourite shelf in my studio apartment is the all white classic String Pocket.
I’ve had it for several years now, but I still think it is a favourite of mine.
It works great to show off some favourite items, and I find myself changing the display quite often.

These days I like to keep it quite airy, simple and minimalistic, with a hint of
soft pink and white. A nice blend of Scandinavian designs.
Some classics and some new.

I collect illustrations from the Danish artists collective Bob Noon, and this framed
black and white named «Columbine» is illustrated by Lea Hebsgaard Andersen.
I love their work and i think art pieces
and illustrations make a home more personalized and «alive».

The two Nappula candlesticks are a christmas gift from Finnish Design Shop
The pretty and oh sooo heavy sandstone box in the colour light rose is
from this years beautiful autumn collection at Bolia.com

A couple of sweet, ceramic espresso cups with wooden saucers from Höganës
for my organic morning coffee. The classic Bumble, always puts a smile on my face,
designed by danish cabinetmaker Hans Gustav Ehrenreich in 1969.

A tiny green succulent to keep it fresh and green inside
now that the seasons are changing.

Notebooks, notebooks, notebooks.
I am a succer for blank pages and I always buy new notebooks.
I must have over a hundred… These ones are from HAY
On top of the pile of notebooks, a beautiful organic treasure,
a 11200 year old coral from the deep sea in Norway,
bought on a local marked a few years ago.

Ps. Would you like to share your #shelf?? Feel free to join in.. and send me a mail!

Really fell for this amazing family house (from 1908) in Danemark
furnished and decorated
with a beautiful contrast in black and white

Especially the (black) kitchen area really caught my eye
Oh.. Just love it as it is right now with the high ceiling,
the lamp (FLOS), the stunning black floor, the cosy minimalistic atmosphere
and its beautiful design furniture
So pretty...

and founder of the inspiring blog "Suus loves" shares hers...

Susanne wrote me:

On this shelf (in my bedroom) you can find my last purchases and gifts
First of all and very present is the "P" print. Our last name starts with the letter P
and family is very important to me. My three men mean everything to me!

I bought the beautiful copper coloured glass boxes a little while ago
at the Amsterdam Woonbeurs where I was on a quick shopping tour with
Christine (house of C) and Elvera after joining a little styling event
organized by the bloggerscafé/woonbeurs people.
I really like the simplicity of the boxes and they are perfect
for decorative purposes and to show some of my beautiful stuff!
In the boxes you can see a paper ornament of house doctor -  love its beautiful shape -
and in the little box there's a pink quartz.  I really believe in the power of gemstones.

The "que le fuck" print, designed by Maaike Koster of the my deer artshop,  is smashing!
it makes me chuckle...  it's a bit rebellious and I love that!!!
It really makes me smile every time I see it ;-)

The dots by Muuto are so beautiful...  I have them in three different sizes.
Just love the texture of wood. In our home you can find a lot of wooden accessories
combined  with white, pastel shades and a touch of black.

I also found the stunning black star (house doctor) at the woonbeurs while we
did some prop shopping.   It reminds me of the very nice and inspiring afternoon
that we spent together while creating a stilllife at the bloggerscafé/woonbeurs event
(the star was actually meant to be a part of that stilllife).
During Christmastime, the star will get a nice spot in our living room!

On the photo below you can see an other shelf at my house.
This one is in our living room where I created a little "autumn mood" corner.
This branch is so beautiful!
Normally I don't like colourfull details but in this case I loved the contrast
of the  white background, the wooden door of the Cabinet
and the red berries at the branch.

I 'm starting my new week with this great apartment in Malmö,
where the mentioned workspace and bedrooms details
from above and the warm atmosphere really caught my eye...

# on my shelf - Alet of Stoermetaal

One of my favourite hashtags on instagram is the #onmyshelf one

but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...

I have asked some of my favourite bloggers/IGers to share their "shelfies"
accompanied by some words or a short story...

I always had lot's of fun during the styling- and shooting days
with the lovely ladies of dutch webshop Stoer Metaal
one of the faces behind the webshop is Alet
this week she shares her shelfie

Alet wrote me:

I have lots of shelves in my home, but this one is my favourite at this moment.
I really like to move stuff around, so it looks a bit different every week!

The newest item on the shelf is the antler on the shield.
I bought it at the Burberry Antique stand while I was visiting the
Amsterdam Woonbeurs  last week.
Despite that I already have 3 antler skulls this one is special because the others
have no shield and they're without the informing text on th skull that says
on which day the deer is shot; this one was shot 1917 in Hersbach.
I love to add old items in my house to give it a more personal touch.

I found the bird house, which is next to the antler,
in a one euro shop, my son loved it so much...
The zig zag paper was the packaging of the nice ABC poster
that I bought  at the twenty-somethin.nl shop.
I think some things are so nice to recycle and I love to show
or use them in another way then they were really ment for.
Just like I did with the wrapping papper, It has become a little art work!

Also love my ABC poster a lot,  I haven't seen this one much around.
The cross on my shelf is repainted in black,  when I received it,
as a small instaswap gift from an IG friend (@leeffstijl),
it was painted in grey chalkpaint.
The cross is hung on a wire, to prevent holes in my wall ;)
That's also the reason why I choose to attache the poster
on the wall with masking tape.

My shelf is in my kitchen, and it's almost the first thing I see when I enter
 the home through the backdoor.
It always makes me happy to see all my nice items together,
but my husband thinks otherwise sometimes...
Especially about the fact that I hide the electric socket with my stuff!
I really love the lighting above my shelf.
They are formal bike lights, and they also refer to Sil (my husband)
his hobby; restoring old motor bikes.
So no complains from him about the lights;)

My style is so different and hard to explain.
I like old things, with an industrial or tough look but I also like to add new, modern things
mostly in black and white, I always love that combination!

you can find Alet (stoermetaal) at IG here
